My first Big Why’s from childhood on were why is it so difficult for people to take care of people? Asking religion and spirituality, then literature and poetry, then philosophy, and never satisfied with what I found. A divine intervention, perhaps, or a right on time though unpredicted moment: a return to community college and a femme professor, also small and mighty and not performing femininity for the male gaze, and a brilliant and passionate educator . . . in the biology department.
Of course! Fuckin Science! Organismal biology, cellular biology, organic chemistry, wild life biology, resource economics, conservation science, natural resource science, . . . surely the answers are here?
But I learned mostly theory, and little praxis, among other problems to me, and yet another story for another time. Please attune to sarcasm during reading, and enjoy this adorable little ditty from 2005. Told you I’ve always been like this ;)
